Maybe it’s because I’m feeling the need to surround myself with greenery after such a long cold winter, or perhaps it’s that I’m just so in love with the new design trend of using vibrant, cheerful color. For whatever the reason I found myself completely inspired by this photograph that I found today on Etsy and thought I’d do another “Home Decorating Inspired by Nature” article using it’s brilliant colors as inspiration.
Decorating a home with vibrant colors can be intimidating however when using Mother Nature as your muse, it’s pretty hard to go wrong. So using this sensational slice of nature for inspiration I’ve created a mini room design to show how easy it is to pull off a nature inspired design theme, without looking kitschy!
The secret to using vibrant colors in a room is not to overdo it, otherwise you’re home will end up looking like a Circus Tent. So to create this sample color scheme I started by pulling out the lovely grey colors and used them as the base for the design; then by adding a few hits of brilliant color, this rooms color scheme came to life.
By using neutral colors for all of the large pieces in the room the space still feels calm and serene, like a nature walk. And by adding color only to the accent pieces, the room can easily be transformed as styles change in the future. Making this decorating plan a timeless classic!
